Uniform Information


School Uniform – Reception to Y6

The following items can be purchased at a range of supermarkets -

Plain white polo shirt or shirt

Plain grey trousers or grey shorts

Plain grey knee-length skirt or pinafore

Black, white or grey socks

Grey tights

Sensible, black, flat shoes (not trainers, sandals or boots)


The following items can be purchased from Ann’s Schoolwear store in Bacup -

(5a Union Street, Bacup, OL13 0AA):

A blue jumper or cardigan with the St Mary’s school logo

A tartan skirt (optional)


Children in our nursery school are invited to wear school uniform but this is optional.

In the summer term, a blue and white gingham summer dress can also be worn, which can be purchased either from Ann’s Schoolwear, or from a range of supermarkets.


PE Kit

Plain white t-shirt

Black shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms

Black PE pumps or black trainers



Swimming costume or trunks (no bikinis or long shorts)


Swimming cap for pupils with long hair



Natural colour

No shaved patterns or hair shorter than a number 2



Not permitted – no necklaces, bracelets or earrings

Nail varnish and make-up is not permitted in school


At the beginning of each full term (September, January, April) parents will be given an opportunity to attend a ‘swap shop’ where pre-loved / second hand uniforms will be made available.

Parents will be notified by text / email / newsletter of the dates and times for our swap shops.
