Nursery 2023 - 2024

Miss quinn

Welcome to our Nursery class page!

February  2024

Hello Miss Quinn and Mrs Middleton here.

We have lots of new and exciting topics coming up in our spring and summer term! We will be learning all about Farms, where our food and animals come from. We will be learning all about the seasonal changes, the job of a farmer and the animals living on the farm. We will be planting some seeds and teaching the children how to care for and grow plants. Not forgetting about Easter, we have been thinking about our lenten promises and learning all about Easter traditions. In the summer term we will be learning all about minibeasts and where they come from. Then we will be discovering the seaside and the summer seasonal changes.  We aim to provide a well balanced, rounded curriculum where children can learn, develop and thrive together.

Our chosen day for P.E. is Tuesday . We will have our P.E. sessions in the school hall, so on Tuesday the nursery children need to come in trainers please.

Nursery children have a lending library box in the cloakroom. Each week you and your child can choose a book to take home and share together, all we ask is that you return the book before you choose another one.

We have some exciting times ahead where we are going to be able to record our WOW moments in our Learning Journeys and work together to record special times in our new R.E., Maths and PSHE "Floor Books".

What a fantastic time we are going to have!

The staff in our Nursery class are:

Our Nursery:

We are a 52 place nursery for 3 and 4 year olds and offer flexible part time and full time places to suit your needs.

Our Nursery is a separate classroom and is part of our Early Years Foundation Stage which is made up of Nursery and Reception. We work closely with Reception to share exciting learning experiences such as the visit from the Bacup Fire Station and the Nativity performance.

We get up to all sorts in Nursery and most importantly we have lots of fun! Use the tabs at the top of our class page to find out more information and to discover the latest news of what we have been up to! We have extra information on the Early Years section of our website too.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
