Nursery 2023 - 2024
Mrs Plant
Welcome to our Nursery class page!
September 2023
Hello Mrs. Plant and Mrs Middleton here, we hope you have all enjoyed a lovely summer, we have missed you!
We have lots of new and exciting topics coming up throughout the year! We will be looking at Rainforests, In the Woods, Transport, Dinosaurs, Pirates and Under the Sea, Our Heroes, Frozen World, Once Upon a Time and many more, not forgetting Christmas and Easter. We aim to provide a well balanced, rounded curriculum where children can learn, develop and thrive together.
Our chosen day for P.E. is Wednesday . We will have our P.E. sessions in the school hall, so on Wednesday the nursery children need to come in trainers please.
Nursery children have a lending library box in the cloakroom. Each week you and your child can choose a book to take home and share together, all we ask is that you return the book before you choose another one.
We are going to be doing lots of cold/hot cooking using healthy foods, no sugary, unhealthy foods as we are a Smiling 4 Life nursery where we learn about the importance of keeping our teeth and bodies healthy.
So there are exciting times ahead where we are going to be able to record our WOW moments in our Learning Journeys and work together to record special times in our new R.E., Maths and PSHE "Floor Books".
What a fantastic time we are going to have!
The staff in our Nursery class are:
Mrs Plant: EYFS Teaching Assistant and Forest School Leader.
My favourite place is the outdoors, it's great to help children engage with their learning! I love to see their interaction with the natural environment both in role play and in art. I enjoy using song and dance with the children as well as playing silly games to help them develop their vocabulary.
Away from school, I like going for walks and exploring the canals. At home I love to cook and try new dishes as well as spending time in my garden.
Mrs Middleton: EYFS Teaching Assistant
Our Nursery:
We are a 52 place nursery for 3 and 4 year olds and offer flexible part time and full time places to suit your needs.
Our Nursery is a separate classroom and is part of our Early Years Foundation Stage which is made up of Nursery and Reception. We work closely with Reception to share exciting learning experiences such as the visit from the Bacup Fire Station and the Nativity performance.
We get up to all sorts in Nursery and most importantly we have lots of fun! Use the tabs at the top of our class page to find out more information and to discover the latest news of what we have been up to! We have extra information on the Early Years section of our website too.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
