It is a real privilege to welcome you to St Mary’s RC Primary School and Nursery. As the new Headteacher of St Mary’s, I am delighted to be joining such a warm, caring and welcoming school community.

St Mary’s is a small Catholic primary school situated in Bacup, Lancashire, surrounded by beautiful countryside and spacious grounds where our children can learn, play, explore and grow.

From the moment I joined St Mary’s, I was struck by the strong sense of family within our school. Our children are kind, thoughtful and welcoming, and our dedicated staff work incredibly hard to ensure that every child feels happy, safe and supported.

At the heart of St Mary’s is our Catholic faith. We work closely with our families, parish and Father Chris to help our children grow in faith and develop the values that will guide them throughout their lives. We are also proud to be part of the Romero Catholic Academy Trust, working alongside our family of schools to provide the very best opportunities for our children.

We want every child at St Mary’s to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Through an engaging curriculum, strong pastoral support and a wide range of enrichment opportunities, we encourage our children to be curious, confident and excited about their learning.

I am incredibly excited about the journey ahead for St Mary’s and look forward to working with our children, families, staff, parish and wider community as we continue to build on everything that makes our school such a special place.
