Our Parish
St Mary and St Anselm
St Mary’s is proud to be part of the Parish of St Mary and St Anselm, bringing together the Catholic communities of Bacup and Whitworth.
We have strong links with our sister school, Our Lady and St Anselm’s (OLSA), Whitworth, and regularly work together on parish celebrations, events and projects.
Our Parish Priest is a valued part of school life, regularly visiting our children, celebrating Mass and supporting us throughout the liturgical year. Our pupils also have opportunities to attend Mass and take an active part in parish life.
Together with OLSA, we support children and families participating in the parish-led Sacramental Programme and enjoy opportunities to join other Catholic schools and parishes for Deanery and Catholic Valley Masses and celebrations.
Through our strong partnership between home, school and parish, we help our children to grow in faith and experience what it means to belong to a wider Catholic family.
