Our Parish

St Mary and St Anselm

Our Parish Community

St Mary’s is proud to be part of the Parish of St Mary and St Anselm, bringing together the Catholic communities of Bacup and Whitworth.

We have strong links with our sister school, Our Lady and St Anselm’s (OLSA), Whitworth, and regularly work together on parish celebrations, events and projects.

Faith in School

Our Parish Priest is a valued part of school life, regularly visiting our children, celebrating Mass and supporting us throughout the liturgical year.

Our pupils have opportunities to attend Mass, take part in liturgical celebrations and become actively involved in parish life.

Together with OLSA, we support children and families participating in the parish-led Sacramental Programme. We also enjoy opportunities to join other Catholic schools and parishes for Deanery and Catholic Valley Masses and celebrations.

Home, School and Parish

Through our strong partnership between home, school and parish, we help our children to grow in faith and understand what it means to belong to a wider Catholic family.
