Attendance At St Mary's Catholic Primary School, we believe that good attendance is essential for children to achieve their potential and enjoy school life. Children should attend school every day and arrive on time, unless they are unwell or there is another unavoidable reason for absence. Our attendance target is 96%, and we encourage all pupils to achieve the best attendance they can. Supporting Good Attendance Parents and carers can help by:
If Your Child Is Absent Please inform the school as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend and provide a reason for the absence. If your child has sickness or diarrhoea, they should remain at home until 48 hours after their last episode. If you are unsure whether your child should attend school due to illness, please contact us for advice. Medicines Medicines should normally be given at home. Where prescribed medication needs to be given during the school day, please contact the school office and complete the appropriate medication form. We ask parents and carers to keep emergency contact details up to date and notify school of any changes. Working Together We understand that there can sometimes be reasons why children find attending school difficult. If you have concerns about your child's attendance, please speak to us as soon as possible so that we can work together to provide support.
